Hi CAFElab! Great idea! diplomod
hi! thanks! :) CAFElab
Idea Details
CALEIDOLED
Description
The Caleidocycle is a ring formed by three-dimensional tetrahedra.
Joining time to time two of these in a flexible way to a board, you get a chain of tetrahedra.
The tetrahedra are linked by a particular grid pattern, said Isoaxis (created by W.Walker).
This form can be rotated around its center without deformation in its material, in this case polyethylene, a material very flexible and strong. For each round, the Caleidocycle\\\'s color changes, according to 5 configurations of different shades. after 5 rounds, you can return to the initial configuration.
Each tetrahedron contains 3 COINLED.
The 4 sides of each prism are respectively illuminated in red, blue, green (RGB), the remaining face is white.
In addition to being an adult game, CaleidoLED is small and manageable, so it is useful to be carried out independently, both at home and outside.
Once charged the battery it can be used as an emergency light or a torch.

cool, an executive toy... I am tired of those swinging metal balls on my desk anyways.... Perhaps if you designed them to interact with each other, you could have colours mixing. There are a few interesting star shapes that are the same where if you take the star and fold it in it\'s self, you get half a star which fits into a rectangle that has a star cavity in it, then you can flip it into a cube with the star hidden inside... I can\'t remember what they are called, but it goes to show you can nest one inside the other and perhaps have the light and intensity change based on the interaction of two physical objects. I like your idea as it has some play value and would appeal to children as well as adults. howman
Sort of like a 21st century Rubik\'s Cube? LED Head
thanks howman! LED head, your definition is very interesting!I think it\'s possible, to play with the colors! CAFElab
this is interesting, reminds me of the fortune tellers that the girls use to make when I was child. Classic
Hi Classic! Actually really like that game ...on each face was written a word if I am not mistaken...or a name! :) CAFElab
yep, thats what I see when I see this. takes me back, lol Classic
ok! the only difference is that it rotates on itself; so, using and playing, anyone can choose how the visible faces of the object should be colored!!! ;) bye CAFElab
Very creative concept. cybortek
