Sounds like a cozy/relaxing mood?

Can you also just switch some of them on? I mean not all at once, but select only some if you want?
Elle Mercier
Of course! :-) You could have different configurations depending on how light you would like it to be!
miki
I would suggest having them have the ability to blink on and off at random intervals with no two units being very closely matched so that the effect is just like what we see in the night sky.

What about different shapes and sizes too? For example maybe a sun and moon for a childs bedroom? These do look like they\'re more for decoration. I love the convinience of all the fittings talking to each other wirelessly too. This is all too often forgotten by most designers
Jak
They could also blink!
bahars
These could also be hung from strings so the light is in 3D. perhaps if you have some form of interconnectivity, simple though, you could have them flash in orders etc. With a simple wire at each point you can use a resistive contact to make the colour change or turn on and off.
howman
Hung on muscle wires, if you run a current through the wire, maybe they will turn and doing it randomly, the light from one, can bounce off the surface of another creating a nice effect.
LED Head
Maybe different ways to mount them also, not just on a wire, but with suction cups or adhesive.
LED Head
Muscle wires are a bit... gooey still... last i heard they were in the petri dish stage still... I don\'t think they would be ready for an in house use yet... I also think they are very sensitive to electrical current so having a power wire near them would be not so good.
howman
Suction cups might not work on a stucco ceiling... I think that some form of adhesive or gum adhesive that can be removed without marking would be a good idea.
howman
When I mention muscle wire, I mean those wires that are already on the market, from companies like Autosplice etc.
LED Head
3M makes a temporary adhesive that comes off real easy, but on flat paint surfaces after a while it will leave a residue.
LED Head
wow, very cool. i submitted a similar idea, but it\'s aimed at more of a general everyday lighting. our designs would be great installed in the same room.
Jehan
Yeh i have some of that 3M stuff... it is like a rubber gum that comes with plastic hooks... when you stretch it, it releases from the wall... but right it does leave a bit of a residue the longer you leave it on.
howman
Ahh different Muscle wires to the ones I know of... will have to check them out.
