Idea Details
Time zone travel glasses
Description
Travel glasses to help reduce the effects of Jet lag. The more time zones you cross, particularly when you\'re heading east, the worse your jet lag is likely to be. By adjusting the colour and intensity of the light the easier it is for the body to make adjustments. Lighting cycle can be programmed to accommodate the journey time, adjustments through the colour spectrum to mimic the adjustment through a normal day. Blue-green light is used to increase seratonin, a mood elevator, while simultaneously suppressing melatonin, which increases alertness to prevent symptoms of winter blues such as lethargy, increased appetite, afternoon slumps, increased need for sleep. Thus helping the body synchronize its wake/sleep cycle without medications…Could be an APPS program linked for plug in and play system.
• Powered by rechargeable batteries, the unit can be remotely adjusted.
• The lens would be darkened to aid natural sleep
• The idea could be expanded to be incorporated into head visors (maybe more comfortable to wear over a period for certain users)
• Commercial applications, by airlines to being incorporated into the overhead light panels of aircraft.
• The glasses would improve the environment for travellers, aiding relaxation and performance of business travellers, arriving ready for work.

These would be great if you could power them right off the speaker jack in an aeroplane seat. I think you have all the other uses covered short of making them a peripheral monitor for your laptop or DVD player... You should also take into account, when programming the light cycles, that aeroplane flights have their own cycle of eating and lighting which accomplished somewhat of the same effect... Perhaps a better situation would be to deal with the cabin lights, and cycle as a design problem and go directly to the airlines with it as a solution that would increase traveller comfort and ridership. howman
But i found that one such glass to overcome jet lag using led is already available in market...! pavithrabvs
Can you provide the link to what is out there already? Thanks. LED Head
@LED Head:here is the link where i found that a led glass is used to overcome jet lag. http://www.geekytraveller.com/fight-jet-lag-with-futuristic-led-glasses/ pavithrabvs
Thanks for the link interesting read. howman
Thanks for pointing out the link, had undertaken initial research and hadn\'t found anything similar. Still think that the idea could be further developed. lindaexmoor
Fantastic idea which I havent come across before despite frequently using various airlines plus occasional helicopter business trips. A lot of thought has gone into this and could be developed further with the right support Corona
@lindaexmoor yeah... all the best for your research........ pavithrabvs
