I think that flowing patterns can be done with two different plug into/Led rgb devices;two holes in the acrylics layer and you will get a changing color pattern because they will share its different lights colors into outside part/layer of the ball or mixing colors into the acrylics compounds diffusor. It is almost impossible to show/render outer clear cristal layer because it disappear at drawings but maybe in a section drawing it becames more clear/show how the different layers are melted and design will looks like. A plain CD shows it better/concep see my other comment-it is also a sandwiched materials/film inside CD more a thick acrylics case coating in just one piece of design. Thanks. Alexandre Oberda
Hi ,I comment mirror ball,but if your comment is about A.Calder-underwater; the balance floating of water inside pads will give this sensation/effects lights;you can see almost it;light reflections on like retro projector lighting glare of moving water inside the pool over wall surface looks like melting movement,this can be done wuth mirrors and waters moves. Hi,as a plus comment-since different materials have also different light ratio transmition/conducts/abilities velocities air/water/difration,etc or maybe alabastro milky glass with like pattern or a sandwiched glass layers-see other comments;lcd film pv/solar cristal cells;a pulse light or even insert particles of ore/gold/silver dust just like as Murano glass will give this waves sensation. Chromatic mirror ball
A sandwich ball/different materials/coating ball
Made from two different/sandwich material as follows:
First,a reflective one-an iron ball with mirror finish
like chrome ball /inside
+more a looks like glass coat finish-a very thick finish
at least 2 cm high over/all around inner iron mirror ball;
that will further acts as light diffusor for inserted led rgb as holes/round shape design in usual bowling balls

I think this is a very creative approach. However, it is not quite clear to me for what purpose there are two balls. Is it a remote control conspet where one ball functions as the remote control of the other? diplomod

Hi,yes Alan is correct,just a rendering drawing to show that t process to final design.It has two layers in one ball. The outer thick cristal clear layer is spread all over previous mirror ball-its is a sandwich material ball; where- like glass;acrylics coating diffusor- is outside metal mirror finish ball.Further just plug in Led compounds in its circle shape holes. I like very much your idea of having two remote comunicating balls with a kind of high-tech component inside. One ball keeps distance-consumer control- of each other I think robots have this kind of anti-collision objects keep some distance device. It is a very high tech approach to design as the previous concept. but to understand it better;maybe you can look at how an common cd has its mirror film/record area/layer inside a more thick acrylics case protect,seeing at a lateral side of it as point of view.It is more a closer approach to what the mirror ball will look,a mirror ball envelopted with acrylics for lighting dispersion in cristal clear finish outer layer. I will give you some kind of examples to explain how to get the desired the flowing optical aspects: When you have two different grids s-ex.pin circle holed grid fence pattern and superpose it with another one/equal-them with an centain different lenght distance the two different layers will make an optical illussion of movement to an obserever passing trhough it walk/move/see 70\'op art or black and white back/front Bauhaus stripes teory of how to create illusions over an observer. ex.two thinner almost transparent mirror films,produced flat but melted like\"contactk\"product will cover product form case ;the ball. A different approach- an methaphorical flat design surface lcd displays of a clock contains a hard plastic base +a soft ruber foam base same design +lcd cristals liquid device +glass top. When finger pressured; I had a broken lcd small visor screen; this lcd screen changes colors/crashs cristal over glass by pressure produces visor color changing even without battery supplier; more to say a sandwich material-liquid cristals+glass. It will explain how to produce an ball that will work by simple gravity/heavy height pressure-the ball surface will show a kind aof different ranges colors over lcd cristals circle patterns even when not lit/light. when light change Led rgb colors will transform it a state of flowing op art design apperance. At least,but not at las,an idea for a comercial product market oriented product/chep light lighting led product For optical effects: a mirror/transparent glue taped holografic films stamps that can found in common lighters adhesives will produce this optical/holografic effects And for rotating floating globes-a similar product already in market- will work very well: I once had/bought a kind of a floating geosphere key ring/Batman/Marvel inc.that works exactly like this desired inside ball rotating 3D directions/effects: a \"pingpong\"plastics material small table tennis ball/inner lighter ball floats inside water or gel + upper case ball made of common transparent plastics/poliestirene. The final effect is amazing ;although it was made for children consumers with a little twist the same concept/design sandwich materials/floating things fits perfect for chromatic mirror ball design;that in my point of view should be made as a hidden led device ,moveable,light,amazing,intriguing although its bold sphere design.
