ILLUMINUTTY!!:!! quasi
hey u made a comment on my profile. I answered it on there, but figured u wouldn\'t check back lol. this is what i said \"yea, but its much more than that. It can be used for interior or exterior. Used for a primary function or as decoration!\" Classic
Maybe we should implement some sort of Email-notification when your idea is commented... diplomod
btw: we will have some extended discussion functions in phase II since I think we really can use it! (25.000 words yet!!!!) diplomod

We-Shirt!

That\'s cool - I\'m not quite sure how you could realize such a concept. Anyway, maybe you should be able to choose which emotion signal goes out like \"Hey, what\'s up!\" or \"Let me in peace!\". Very helpful for shy singles ;)

i\'m thinking the program driving the light display would have to have a learning function. each user would have to program their own shirt as we all have our own criteria for emotion. maybe it could have sensors to detect the tone of your voice and the reaction of your heart to an encounter. it might be similar to the technology used to recognize patterns in brain wave activity to move a cursor on a computer screen. this might as well be done via a wireless connection to a computer or handheld device like an iphone app as it\'s likely easier to make it wireless than make it wired with todays technology! it should also have a feature to display whatever you want insted of just displaying emotions...no one wants their emotions on display all the time! this wireless connectivity should also enable the shirts to recognize each other when ppl wearing them are within range.

I like it... It is like a beacon for dating... If the shirts were loaded up with sensors a number of things could be recorded and acted upon. For example, if the shirt records elevated heart rate and sweating when I approach someone, it could be assumed the involuntary reaction is an emotion. Of course recognizing and properly deciphering these messages would be difficult. I\'m thinking that with todays technology you would end up looking like Darth Vader just to have the most basic processing power required for very simple emotion recognition.
But the idea is fairly sound. I think the tech is available for the shirts to display as you can get them on ThinkGeek, but the emotion recognition and act system is worth developing.

I think the idea is very interesting, but think the current visualization speaks more to technology than emotion and connection which should probably take the forefront for this idea.

Riddick you are right about that pic...i\'ll see if i can come up w/ a more interesting visual. i really like the idea of the wi-fi detecting T-shirt I agree I need to add some dynamic to it.

*&#^$ this totally already exists minus the emotion sensor and it\'s waaaay cooler than i evern could have imagined... i want one!

As this type of material becomes more prevalent, and passes through the wow, everywhere, not more stuff with it, retro to useful, time line, it will become reasonable, understood and recognized for what it can be. By that time we should also see some reduction in the cost of sensors for emotion and the algorithms that go with it and a marked improvement in batteries.

In a laser tag game application, instead of just lighting up to show someone was shot, it could show you exactly where it is.

These would be great in hospitals to show heart beats etc... perhaps there are many other uses in medicine where light to mark or draw attention would be useful.

Yes, for people that have circulation issues like diabetics, it could remind them to get up and start moving around to get the blood flowing.
