Bookmark - Portable LED Lamp
Description
Remember the childhood …and for sure … you will know immediately the feeling of reading a book or writing a diary under the blanket, using the light from a flashlight. It is a feeling of protection, intimacy, cosyness and safety is the kind of feeling that you have when sitting in front of a fire (fireplace).
This Portable LED Lamp is special designed to take the role of a bookmark and in the same time is offering the possibility to read or write when you don’t have … or you don’t want another source of light.
It is made of a flexible material so you could set(twist/bend) the bookmark to have the light at the right angle between the pages of a book or on the table near the working place.
It can be charged using photovoltaic cells/friction/USB/or you can use a rechargable battery.

I like the idea that you can charge it by the sun. howman
You might even consider that since it is so flat, that you could use the electro-static discharge of two materials rubbing against each other as you bend the book mark as a method of charging it. Or some form of hinge on a book cover that creates electricity as you open and close the book while you change pages... howman
I like the idea a lot - I always struggle with the right light when reading - and I also agree about the emotional part: I think some people read books bc they want to sink into their bed, no computer, noise, Internet wahtsoever and hide. electrostatic discharge is as clever! diplomod
I like the idea, but as some others have mentioned, seems like there might be another power source that is better suited to the context and life of a book/boomark etc than laying it on the sun or plugging it into the computer. I wonder if bending or applying pressure to piezo-electric strips of some sort might be a possibility for charging. riddickuliss
I like the idea of being able to backlight the page by placing the bookmark underneath it, by doing this you wouldn\'t disturb someone close by (like reading in bed). Maybe have it in two sizes, one for paperback books and one for larger hardcover books, or make it expandable to the book size. For charging, if you shake to book you could charge the bookmark or maybe a small hand crank, where you crank it for 30 seconds and it provides light for an hour. LED Head
OLED might be the way to go on this idea, organic LED technology is thinner and has already been made to be bendable. LED Head
I really like this idea b/c I like to read at night before I go to bed. But charging it is the issue, lol. These ideas for charging aren\'t right yet. It will take a real innovative process to figure it out...I\'m thinking...don\'t have it yet. Classic
Thank you for your comments … I appreciate them … and … I do believe too that it needs another power source. It was just the idea that I wanted to point out … I didn’t work at all to the other aspects of the design … I think that is the faze 2 what is all about. But I think is possible to find a suitable power source and with good design it will look great even that the bookmark light will be thicker in one part … there are a lot examples of ultra thin electronic products that do more than that. thanks flav_660029

I do, backlighting the page would be easier on the eyes and would not disturb the people next to you as much as a light shining down and reflecting all around. LED Head
