hey u made a comment on my profile. I answered it on there, but figured u wouldn\'t check back lol. this is what i said \"yea, but its much more than that. It can be used for interior or exterior. Used for a primary function or as decoration!\" Classic
Maybe we should implement some sort of Email-notification when your idea is commented... diplomod
btw: we will have some extended discussion functions in phase II since I think we really can use it! (25.000 words yet!!!!) diplomod

i made this image /w MS paint just to get the idea on the board. i love my table that lights up! ir\'s almost as cool as my other table that also has lights!

Its a fantastic idea. Do you experience problems with glare though? I noticed the lights shine straight up and I wonder if this could be a problem when using the table in a practical situation.

if the lights are not covered they are too bright to enjoy while sitting at the table. that is why you see the things over the lights. but when these things are lit, as you can see ^, it is a very pleasent dining experience! you could even change the colour of the things placed over the lights to change the colour of illumenation in the room. it\'s almost like dining with candle light. the glare you see in these pics is due to the long exposure of my camera.

The idea of lighting from different areas is always great. I wonder though if everyone around the table would end up looking like they were telling ghost stories at a campfire with a flashlight under their chin for effect if your lights are too bright... I think that if the table top was frosted, you could get away with dimmer lights and still get it to translate across the whole surface.

Maybe some sort of sensor so when someone tells you to pass the salt and you slide it to them, it leaves a light trail...

There is this really cool glass, can\'t remember the name, but when you pass an electric current through it, it is clear, when you remove the current, it goes frosted... They use it for meeting room walls and doors and such... Perhaps it would be a good material... this way you can have a clear table when you are not using it, and a frosted one when you are.

Have you seen the bathrooms they have made out of that stuff? The glass in transparent and when you walk into it and lock the door it goes frosted! Hope everyone remembers to lock the door! LOL.

cool to see someone actually building their ideas instead of just imagining them!
