garden light
Description
Using the form of bamboo trunks as inspiration, this design is the postmodern version of a Zen garden, that works as lamp and as interior division. The design has an aluminum base that holds the trunks, which are formed by a repeated module, made of translucent flexible acrylic, that works as screen. Each trunk is held to the base through a hidden metallic structure that holds to the modules and the electrical system. The trunks are slightly flexible, creating harmonic movements in contact with the wind, allowing the hit of the trunks that generates a soft percussion as background music.

I like the design! Oana Doina Trusca
Looks very familiar. You might want to take a look at some of the garden items shown over the last few years at NeoCon or IDS. howman
I like this idea. But why have a large base with lots of lights. Why not make them individually with spikes so they can be pushed directly into the ground like other garden lights? zapwizard
very nice design.here is another \'bamboo light\' inspired by lucky bamboo : http://www.yankodesign.com/2007/09/11/lucky-bamboo-light/ petra
Wonderful idea!!!!! though what stops the \"bamboo poles\" from snapping in high wind areas? also using aluminium for the base is fine, but have you thought of using recylced aluminium or wood? in this way the unit can be manufactured with less impact on the environment. after all the essence of using nature as inspiration would lead to trying to design for minimal imapct on the environment Aslam Mahomed
