Very novel idea. I really like the way the light faces inwards and casts shadows. I wonder if is would flash red when I fell off it, and green when I was able to balance. You could set the lights to transition from red to green over time based on the users ability to stay on the ball longer and longer... The colour change would act like a gauge to push you to go longer on the ball and become better at balancing... Sort of the same way the lines in a sidewalk mark out how far you can ride your bicycle in a wheelie... howman
hmm, I didn´t think about any gaugering, In my mind was idea about 3 light circuits. 1st for the changing colours light like a rainbow, 2nd for every 2nd horizontal canal with a possibility to on/off the color in the batery basement and 3rd for the basement inside surfaces. durica
Cool idea! Maybe the light intensity could reflect the amount of weight/pressure/impact? Could be very cool! riddickuliss
@riddiculiss - I am not sure that weight would be a good thing to base light output on... Imagine a room of these being used for yoga or weight training... now imagine your ball is glowing twice as bright as everyone else\'s and is red... how you going to feel? I like the impact idea as it would help to reduce injury related problems associated with poor form and motion during training... howman
For children, you could add a game like hot potato where the kids throw the ball to each other and eventually it turns red and that person is out of the game. Sort of like LED based musical chairs. LED Head
The shadow show looks enticingly, special when somebody will stumble unintentionally and all the space gets moving with him. Must by fun at this moment. frederick
@howman-good empathetic attitude of mind. I don´t want to imagine the ball in the gym...it makes impression better alone like the only resource or with another-without contrasted shadows durica
this is a great innovation for an inflatable ball! i would love to have this in my room. just pray it doesn\'t pop. if ever it does, did you consider the safety aspect of this? sheepy
if it pops it just pops or just deflates like normal inflatable balls. Only things that pops really are balloons. now, what happens if the balls so happenly gets wet? Classic
@sheepy&Classic-useful questions..the structure ball must be produce from very stretch and durable-resilient material. And then when it pops you goes to recover it to the shop where you buy it. Routine practice.(classical fitballs also doesn´t pop every day). The energy centrum with the batteries could be with a waterproof membrane. durica
would the like lights be on the inside or the outside? if the lights are on the inside how do we change them? if the lights are on the outside how do we make the texture interesting not hurt if the ball hits someone in the head? kids like to throw things lol Classic
:) yes, not only kids..I wasn´t thinking about the outside isntalation of LEDs, cause by this way I´ll lose nice shadowplay, and it isn´t safety and comfy for anybody. DRAGON chain /D.ch./ is inside of the large inflatable canal, so I think when any part of D.ch.will damage, you go to the shop, and specialists take out the D.ch. from the elastic canal (without his harming) and they repair the light or replace D.ch. with the new one..by me. durica
and one more thing-my design isn´t a scheme with a technical details, it´s just like a diagram. durica
@Classic - Have you ever tried to pop one of those gym balls? They only have about 2psi of pressure in them and can hold hundreds of pounds... In order to pop you would have to inflate them to a much higher surface tension and then damage the surface. Of course if some idiot did just that, you might have a problem, but a huge warning sticker and some form of proprietary inflation nozzle with a pressure blow by valve. Considering the likely cost of this unit, a sticker and a valve will not impact the final price too much. ;) howman
@howman: I agree with you. I was responding to sheepy basically saying that it shouldnt pop, only balloons pops haha. I asked about it getting wet, lol. Classic
I hope I answered sufficiently :) thanx for all questions and comments ;) durica
Oh well, wet is a different thing altogether... dunno... perhaps if the LED\'s were embedded into the rubber that wouldn\'t be an issue at all. howman
@howman-How I wrote in a description, LEDs are embedded in the air tubes, and sure this tubes must be maked from the rubber for it´s attributes. durica
